Experience

My teaching journey began in the summer of 2013, when I travelled to Istanbul, Turkey to teach a month-long intensive English course to primary school children. This experience gave me the first taste of what it means to participate in the upbringing of the next generation. It also helped me begin honing my teaching skills and taught me the importance of patience and cultural understanding. After this experience, I tutored countless students in English, Economics, and Law throughout my undergraduate and law school years. Through doing so, I learned a great deal about effective teaching methods and rapport-building with students. In 2018, after finishing law school, I stopped teaching for some time in order to focus on my legal career. Then, in 2021, I returned to teaching and since then have been tutoring French privately and through various companies to students of different ages. I have tutored students in every age group between gr. 4 and and gr. 12. Teaching such a diverse demographic of students has given me a great deal of insight into adapting my teaching style to the particular needs of the students that I am working with. I have also found great fulfillment in overcoming the challenges that come with teaching different age groups and helping students achieve their language goals. Currently, I am a French instructor at Montreal Language Studies Inc. (an OISE school), a role in which I teach French courses to professionals from various organizations, including large multinational corporations. This role has helped me gain an understanding of the unique challenges of adult learners and how to adapt my teaching style to meet their needs.
